NORTH PEAK IS A FINALIST IN TWO CATEGORIES AT BRITISH DATA AWARDS

I can’t recall entering an award before. At least not for myself. My work focuses on others. Helping them to find their voice, to articulate their vision and increase their impact. To be leaders and technical translators.

Data Partnership with Yorkshire Building Society

Which is why I’m thrilled to have been shortlisted alongside Yorkshire Building Society in the Data Partnership of the Year category at the British Data Awards 2026.

We’ve worked together for over four years, coaching over 30 data leaders in support of Yorkshire Building Society’s ambition to be a future-ready, data-led business.

It’s a wonderful testament to Data and AI Director Rebecca (Becky) Fitzgerald’s commitment to develop her team beyond the more typical technical skills programmes, and it’s phenomenal to see the results both individual coachees and the organisation are achieving in their transformation.

I am also honoured to have been shortlisted for Data Leader of the Year, both for my work now as a coach and for 30 years in the industry.

Celebrating the whole data industry, spotlighting coaching for data professionals

It’s incredibly refreshing that the British Data Awards set out to discover and celebrate the UK’s data success stories across the diversity of the whole sector.

From fresh-faced start-ups and not-for-profits to technology unicorns, government departments, FTSE 100 heavyweights, and everything in between, to make two shortlists out of a record 462 entries feels special.

Finalists will be celebrated, and winners announced, on the 20th of May at The Brewery, London. It would be lovely to receive a trophy, but for me, being shortlisted among countless AI innovations and recognising the value of ‘coaching for logicians’ is already a win. It’s a win for me, for coaching generally but more importantly for those who embrace the environment and are determined to be better.

My thanks go to Yorkshire Building Society, especially Becky and Beth, for their ongoing commitment, to colleagues and clients past and present for their support and to the exceptional panel of judges for their belief in coaching innovation in an often under-served and turned off industry.

If you know me, you’ll know my passion lies with engaging people (including coaching cynics!) and seeing them advance their careers. If you don’t, I’d love to tell you more about my approach to coaching, how it’s different and why as I write it’s scoring 5/5 for experience and 4.9/5 for achievement.

You’ll find me at the British Data Awards on the night, presenting the awards for North Peak’s sponsored category, Best Place to Work, or you can contact me for a chat any time.
